THE VINEYARD
Our historic Chamisal Vineyard, the first planted in the Edna Valley in 1973, is nestled between the Santa Lucia Mountains and the cool Pacific Ocean on California’s Central Coast. The long hang time promised by the site develops intense flavor in our grapes, the perfect start to distinctive wines that are flavorful and complex.

TASTING NOTES
The 2007 Estate Syrah does not disappoint the cool-climate Syrah lover with its hints of leather, pipe tobacco, earthy minerality and meaty notes. Despite its "dirty cowboy" impression, it is an elegant Syrah with vanilla and cinnamon on the nose, a wonderful mouthfeel in the mid palate and a big finish. The firm tannins and high acidity will ensure a long shelf life, so we recommend aging this wine for up to 3 to 6 years.
