The Modoc Indian term for “prettiest one” is Califa, and that’s what these wines are to us — our reserve wines. These bottlings are blended from the best barrels of the vintage, those that are the most opulent and seductive, fully capturing the power and intensity of our historic vineyard.
Our Estate wines are designed to capture the whole essence of our historic vineyard. By blending the variety of clones from different blocks throughout our estate, we create each of these bottlings to be a bold, beautiful and complete representation of the varietal and our vineyard.
Our Stainless Chardonnay is distinct from our other wines, both in wine style and in fruit sourcing. Fermented in stainless steel and never touching oak barrels, this wine shows the pure expression of the Chardonnay grapes that come from our estate and other respected vineyards in the region.
